Frustration #2 I couldn't even change the parameters on any of the robots When a robot doesn't work you can't change anything significant about them. They are 'locked up'. So you just have to move on to another one and spend more of your hard-earned dollars. Frustration #3 Many of the robots I tried were forcing me to risk too much. Some of the robots only work with high risk settings which I couldn't tolerate. Like robots that are based on scalping strategies that risk $50 to win just $1 on a trade. Even if that kind of robot had 98% winning trades you would still lose! Some robots, such as those based on martingale strategies, use a lower risk setting, but continue to take increasingly larger counter-trend trades in the hope that the trend will reverse. The compounding effect of these counter-trend losing trades can quickly get out of hand. Way too scary! That is how I wiped out two accounts. I was in a Buy trade on the EUR/USD when it plummeted on a news event. So the martingale robot continued to take buy trades as the down trend continued, in increasingly larger lot sizes (in the hope that a small bounce would get you back to breakeven or profit). Well no bounce came. I woke up to find my account closed...and empty. I was devastated! Frustration #4 For some, I had to buy multiple licences of products to try their strategy on different currency pairs. Costly! Frustration #5 The expensive trading room I subscribed to published different results to what I achieved by following their strategies to the letter. I found out they didn't take the spread into account when claiming how profitable they were. And when you did, they were actually losing money. I found out they weren't such hot traders after all. Frustration #6 I spent hours manual trading on my own and found I too often interrupted a good trade, when I should have let it run. Or I just couldn't wait for the setup to be fully realised so I would enter too early and hope for the best.... and experienced the worst. Not that I did too badly with manual trading but I couldn't just sit there and do nothing. I couldn't leave it alone.
