Dear Aspiring MBA,
I hope you have a strong stomach.
Because in the next 3 minutes you're going to see something that may really upset you, it might even piss you off a little...
It may even make you want to leave this page and never come back...
But I'll make you a promise right now - give me a few minutes of your time, hear me out...
I guarantee you'll be glad you did.
Just imagine...
It’s 4 months from today, and you've just received the call from Derrick Bolton at Stanford GSB Admissions informing you that you've been accepted to Stanford.
You didn't think it was possible, and you were worried about going to a 2nd tier school, where you might not get a good return on your investment. But all that hard work crafting your powerfully unique story paid off...
Let's hope this is you in 6 months, but unfortunately, the cold reality is that it is not 4 months from now, and today you are faced with a seemingly endless to-do list for your applications.
And let's not forget you are competing against thousands of highly qualified investment bankers, private equity analysts, and consultants, all with ridiculous 3.7 GPA's and 750 GMAT's and... all of whom are looking to take your spot.
Now, can you honestly say you are doing everything you can to make it into the top 365 slots? And perhaps even more pressing in the back of your mind...
Are the odds of acceptance insurmountable?
Believe me, I know first-hand the anxiety you are feeling about applying to business school, but I assure you, you can overcome almost any obstacle and still get into a top MBA program.
I feel compelled to tell you a story that may inspire you to aim higher on your MBA appplications.
You see, I grew up in rural North Carolina, had a 2.24 (!) undergraduate GPA, even sold vacuum cleaners door-to-door, and eventually bounced around a couple of 2nd tier consulting firms. Not exactly a slam-dunk applicant at any business school, right?
So I understand, it's hard to believe I have a Stanford MBA
Well, it's true. Before I applied, I really had no clue how to pull everything together into a winning application.
I knew I had an interesting story to tell, but I didn’t know if it was the "right" story, or if I otherwise had any shot at a top-tier business school.
So, you can imagine my excitement when I got the call from Derrick Bolton, director of Stanford MBA Admissions, at 9pm while I was still plugging away at work. I was so excited that I took the rest of the night off :)
So how did I get there, you ask?
For me, the application process started out with a sense of excitement, anxiety, and dread all rolled into one. I wasn't sure how to get started, but I knew that the clock was ticking and I had to take action immediately if I were to have any shot at Stanford.
I also knew that I was filled with anxiety thinking about the whole process - maybe even the same concerns you are feeling right now...
Do any of these anxieties sound familiar?
Will I get into a top program that will justify sacrificing $150k and 2 years of my life? |
|
How do I put together a compelling picture of myself that will win over the admissions committee? |
|
How do I balance being honest with telling the admissions committee "what they want to hear"? |
|
How do I stand-out from the thousands of other applicants with my EXACT background? |
|
Are my credentials good enough for the schools I actually want to attend? |
|
How do I position myself so I am a good fit for the schools on my list? |
|
How do I find out what worked for previous admits that were in a similar situation to me? |
|
What if I don't get a high-enough GMAT score? |
|
Will I get into a top-5 school, and if I don't, do I even want to go to business school? |
|
I could use some help, but where do I start??? |
I won't go into all the details, but I will say this...
I eventually figured out what the admissions committee wanted (HINT: it's almost certainly NOT what you're thinking), but I decided that no one else should have to go through the anxiety that I did. I guess you could say...
Along the way, I had an epiphany...
I discovered some truly amazing things about the application process. Things that were not at all obvious when I started my applications.
You see, I uncovered a systematic approach to the application process that works every time, and it would be wrong of me not to let you in on the secret.
I fell into this position reluctantly...
I didn't set out to be an admissions consultant - far from it. But the hard-earned insights I learned from struggling through my applications were so profound that I feel compelled to share them with you today.
Helping each other is one of the joys of life, and I want to help you get into the best MBA program possible (where you get a lifetime of benefits translating into hundreds of thousands, or even millions, in additional lifetime income -- not to mention the joy of working at a job you actually love).
You can get into a better school than you imagine, or if you're applying to a top school, I'll bet you can get accepted. Unfortunately (and I'm not a mind-reader, of course), I'm almost certain that you're going about it the wrong way. As a result, you're going to waste a lot of time, eneregy, and money - just like I did. That's why I want you to consider this...
I'm assuming you're like me, and if you're like me, you're the kind of person who is willing to take action to be successful. (if you're not the kind of person that takes action, please leave so that someone who is willing to work can take your spot). Think of it like this:
How much effort would you be willing to make if Stanford offered you a spot *today*?
Doesn't the decision to take action make more sense in this context? If you could buy a lifetime income stream worth several millions dollars, and only have to give up a month of hard work, you'd jump all over it, right?
A top MBA will open doors to jobs that were previously out of reach. Simply put, this is your best chance to start your career, and the rest of your life, on the right foot.
Even if you can do it on your own, why take a chance and waste this one opportunity to get into the absolute best school possible - the alternative is paying $100k for a degree that may or may not provide a good return on your investment.
I still wasted a ton of time (time that I didn't have, and I'm sure you don't either) trying to figure out the rest of the admissions process.
Even if Your Essays are Perfect, It's Only Part of the Overall Application Marathon...
It could take you months and can cost you a small fortune to figure out the right overall application strategy that will get the attention of the admissions director, and you won’t know if you’ve succeeded until it is too late to do anything about it.
Not to mention you need to absolutely be on top of a TON of other steps to give yourself a chance of admission.
The Application Process Can Be Overwhelming...

for Sunday, December 20, 2009 You'll also receive 6 complete applications(The actual, complete, and exact applications that I submitted)! |
Stanford GSB - Complete Application
Due to it's length, the Stanford application is the holy grail of crafting a complete application package. If you're just starting out, or need to a cohesive overall approach to mitigating a weakness, this is the best place to start. |
|
Duke/Fuqua - Complete Application
The Duke application is extremely concise! The exact opposite of Stanford, and provides a good contrast of how to say a lot in as few words as possible. |
|
UCLA - Complete Application
UCLA is a good application to study, because the essay lengths of typical of most schools. UCLA's focus on teamwork and entrepreneurship require subtle changes from other schools. |
|
Carnegie Mellon - Complete Application
Carnegie Mellon's application is different from the rest of these applications largely becasue of the school's focus on technology. This perspective is helpful if you are either looking to pursue technology as a career goal, or if you come from a tech/IT background. |
|
Kellogg - Complete Application
Kellogg is an excellent example of how to select from numerous optional essays to craft an overall story. Kellogg's heavy focus on teamwork requires subtle changes from other schools. |
|
Berkeley/Haas - Complete Application
Berkeley's application has a heavy emphssis on short answer questions. It is easy to lose sight of the overall story with so many questions, so this illustrates how to craft a story with a lot of smaller pieces. |
At last! A comprehensive system to help you get into the school of your dreams!
Maybe you have a low GPA? or GMAT? or an unconventional work history? or are an international applicant looking to stand out from the crowd?
No problem!
Develop a winning strategy to mitigate ANY weakness...

But get ready for a shock. The system I put together is unlike anything ever offered before. If you’re expecting some boring collection of generic tips, like those available at any bookstore, you’ve got another thing coming.
You'll learn how to weave together bits and pieces from your background into a formidable application that will shoot to the top of the 'admit' list.
You're getting actionable advice at each step in the process!
I know you're probably still skeptical, but think about this - if you waste this one opportunity to get into the absolute best school possible - you'll be paying $100k for a degree that may not provide a positive return on your investment.
That's why I want to give you the absolute best shot at getting into the best program possible.
Okay, now I hear you grumbling:
"The process is much too personal, and this Bootcamp will never be specific enough to be of any real help."
Actually, that’s the whole point of the Bootcamp.
The application process is absolutely a "self-awareness" exercise, and the Bootcamp is designed to help you uncover a much richer sense of self-awareness.
Your voice will come through loud and clear, and with a resounding clarity that you might not find on your own -- I know mine did! For me, the process uncovered a much deeper sense of self-awareness, but much, much quicker than I could have done on my own.
Of course, no one can guarantee that anyone will get into any one single school, but you're really paying to make sure you get your best one-time shot at your top-choice schools.
You are the type of person that takes action to achieve success - otherwise you wouldn't be reading this - so give yourself the best chance to get into the school of your dreams.
Can you really afford to put off the decision any longer? The sooner you start, the sooner you get a step ahead of those other 11 people trying to take your spot.
Imagine how much easier claiming your spot in class with be once you have the full arsenal...
Which of these powerful tools could you use to build a winning application?

How to approach and manage recommenders, including samples of strong letters of recommendations, and the knowledge of how to use them to mitigate weaknesses.
What your resume should look like and how to make it an asset for your overall application.
How to select among multiple optional essay topics so that your maximum potential is highlighted to the admissions committee.
How to organize your strategy to avoid wasting time and money. |
With the MBA Admissions Bootcamp, you’ll get all of these, plus some surprise bonuses that you won't believe!
We'll break the process into manageable bite-sized chunks. And it doesn’t matter what school you’re stretching for - this system will help you get into the best school possible.
Okay, so what's the cost for this incredible resource?
I realize that this Bootcamp could easily sell for thousands of dollars.
In fact, if you hired a consultant to help you through the entire process (which would be a smart move, by the way), you'd be charged in the neighborhood of $5,000 to $15,000 - not including any written coursework.
Most of the admissions consultants - including myself- charge a minimum of $250 per hour. So at bare bones minimum you'd have to agree that you're getting thousands of dollars worth of expert advice at your disposal.
But I'm not going to charge you anywhere near that amount. In fact, your total investment for creating your best possible application is only $297.
So what's the catch?
Why am I practically giving this resource away?
Well, it’s really quite simple. I want to sell a physical set of DVD's (which cost a fortune) to have produced.
So, before I clean out my savings account to have a few thousand copies made, I want test a downloadable version of the Bootcamp out on a limited number of people.
So, you help me out by providing feedback, and I help you out with a price that is about 80% off the full price.
As such, I can only accept a limited number applicants in this downloadable version of the Bootcamp. I would like to help everyone, but honestly I just want to try it out on a few people, and then I'm going to mass produce the DVD's.
You'll be one of the first and only people to get the Bootcamp in this format and one of the last to get in at this price.
Act Fast Special
And I'll tell you what, just so I can test it out within a few days and get started selling the higher-priced physical product, if you purchase the Bootcamp today, I’ll take 50% off the price.
That means you can have the entire risk-free MBA Admissions Bootcamp for only $297 $147, and you still have a full 60 days to decide if I've helped your application or not.
All I ask in return is that you're someone that is willing to take action to be successful. Otherwise, the Bootcamp will be wasted on you, and you should let someone else take your spot. Fair enough, right?
I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm just trying to weed out the weak here, and make sure I'm helping people who are willing to work with me to achieve success.
(Once you purchase, you'll have immediate access to watch and download everything!)
