Well, yes, it will take some juggling but really, doing nothing is just not an option because the price is way too high.

Doing nothing not only doesn’t get you results, it will make matters much worse!  An ignored postpartum pelvic floor and core will go from bad to worse leaving you with incontinence and worries about embarrassing yourself. 

Many women even stop doing their favourite activities like dancing or playing tennis because they are worried about leaking.  That is not a fun way to live! 

Seems like such a pity when these issues are preventable and fixable.

As if being a new mom isn’t hard enough work, the body starts to rebel.  The pains you are ignoring get a little worse each day.  You hope that a massage or a day off will help but the day off never comes and the massage relief only lasts a few moments. 

If you do nothing, to top it all off, your body will stay flabby and quite likely even more fat will accumulate and the dimples on your bum will multiply.  Before you know it, you’ll have become one of those frumpy moms as your energy gets lower and your self-confidence is down in the dumps.

Gosh, that isn’t quite what we sign up for when we eagerly plan for babies, is it?

Recovery after birth

In fact, it makes the whole thing sound pretty negative doesn’t it?

But it’s not as though there’s NOTHING you can do to get your body back into shape after giving birth.

You could hire a personal trainer. 

Though you’d have to be careful with this as you’d be surprised at how poorly prepared most of them are to address the needs of postpartum moms.  (I was until I searched for better information than what is offered in personal training courses!)

In fact, many women end up worse after sessions with a trainer due to the inappropriate exercises and incorrect progressions.  The last thing you need added to your already full plate is a worse functioning and looking body!   

You could try out one of one of the many postnatal exercise programs available.

They can work for some people, but many of them are just too vague, too general or just too difficult to follow to get any real results from them.

You could go to a Pilates class to get your body back to the way it was, they’re good, right?
